Microsoft’s Big E3 Win

E3 has begun and out of the gate first came Microsoft. Not to be outshined by Sonys early PS4.5 announcement, Microsoft decided to capitalize on the 9am west coast spot.

As nerds were still emerging from their caves, summer’s shine firmly painted on their foreheads, Microsoft hit the lights on their crisp black and white stage. The Microsoft Xbox One S the opening act.

Yes, just as Apple releases a slightly advanced S of their products a calendar year later, we may now too be seeing the same with our consoles. Hopefully at least every three years though right Geoff Keighly? Also how was that joint you burned after the Xbox conference?

Not only will we be getting a new controller it will also come in over 8 million color palettes to customize online.

Of course we also got to see all the gut pulling Gears of War action, old man Fenix delivering the cream to the pants of many dude bros.

But my favorite segment was a concept that permeated instead of being a main presentation point. The Windows 10/Xbox family reunion. Another Apple style of product design, Microsoft wants to build an entire echo system for their users. Got your laptop with you but not your Xbox? That’s fine. Here’s your library of games. Only have a few seconds to check in on your friends and schedule a Destiny or Division raid before you wipe your ass? No problem just hop on the smart glass app.

Nice work Microsoft. You continue to make me comfortable in stating this will be your generation despite Sony’s sexier and more agressive marketing.

What are your thoughts on Microsofts conference? Are you excited for the Xbox One S? What about the Scorpio?
